I never saw any character growth, self-reflection, or accountability on her end. She was honestly my biggest issue with the book. I’ll keep this review short because I literally don’t want to think about this book anymore: -The heroine Jade was self-centered, selfish, insensitive, immature, and absolutely intolerable. Based on the raving reviews online, it seems like I’m the outlier for whatever reason. I really liked the previous two books in this series, so I’m a little surprised this ended up being such a huge miss for me. Tropes/Themes: -MF contemporary sports romance (professional hockey) -Professional Hockey Player x Wedding Journalist Marriage of convenience (the heroine is basically getting married so she can document it for her job…but after her fiancé breaks up with her days before the big day, the hero offers to step in as her groom) -Opposites attract -Forced proximity (they agree to stay married for 1 year, they also move in together) -Hero falls first -Dual POV -Book #3 in an interconnected standalone series Nope….nope nope nope.
